our mission:

We want to share Joy by creating unique, fun, and tasty hard ciders with fresh ingredients sourced in the Northwest.

The Happy Accident That Became One Tree

In the summer of 2014, Grant Barnes asked for a beer-making kit for Father’s Day. Instead, he unwrapped a cider-making kit. (Thanks, family.) Little did he know that this “wrong” gift would spark the very right journey of crafting some of the boldest, most flavorful ciders around.

Grant’s first batch? Let’s just say it wasn’t winning any blue ribbons. But instead of tossing in the towel, he got hooked. Each misstep became a lesson, each flop a step closer to figuring it out. Curiosity turned into obsession, and obsession into craft.

From a garage that smelled like apples gone rogue, One Tree Hard Cider was born. Grant and his small crew went door-to-door, bar-to-bar, pouring samples and bracing for rejection. (There was plenty.) But perseverance—and a little stubbornness—kept them going.

The secret? Real fruit, patience, and a refusal to cut corners. Every batch is made to taste like something you want to remember, not something you try to forget.

Today, One Tree is more than cider in a can. It’s a Cider House full of taps, flavors, and stories—all stemming from one Father’s Day mix-up and a whole lot of determination.

FAQs

  • Our cider house is only open to individuals aged 21 and over.

  • Yes! All of our ciders are gluten free.

  • Depending on our availability, we can fulfill some requests for kegs in the Spokane area. We require at least a two weeks’ notice. To inquire, send us an email at info@onetreehardcider.com.

  • If you see a date following the term “BO”, that means the cider was bottled on that day. Our cider is good for at least one year following that date provided it was not opened or stored in lots of heat. A bad smell is always a good indication that the cider has gone bad.

  • Because cider is fragile and heavy, it costs a little more than average products in shipping to keep it safe until it gets to your door.

“When I was in college, my buddy and I stumbled across a little tap house, and they were selling One Tree Cider. I ordered it - and it changed my life forever! I was so excited to find the best cider I’d ever tasted, and to date, it still holds!”

A cider lover from Montana:

“The Lemon Basil cider is my absolute favorite! While I am a die-hard for my favorite flavor, I love being able to check out what is new and seasonal as well! Cheers to one tree!”
